Carlie Coding

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the camp hours?
Our full-day camps run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Why should I send my child to a coding camp?
Coding encourages creativity and critical thinking, vital skills in today’s tech-driven world. Even if your child doesn’t become a coder, understanding technology will prepare them for the future and help them navigate a digital world with confidence.

Will my child be grouped with others of the same age?
Yes, we ensure that students are grouped appropriately by age for both learning and social interactions. Even if there’s a mix of ages in the same room, activities are tailored to suit each group’s abilities and developmental level.

Who are your teachers?
At Carlie Coding, we are committed to high educational standards and inspiration. All our teachers are DBS-checked, trained, and experienced in working with children. Our team includes teachers from local schools, professional educators, and skilled computer scientists.

What will my child learn at Carlie Coding?
We focus on equipping children with crucial skills for the future while making sure they enjoy the learning process. Through a varied curriculum, we teach foundational coding and technology skills, integrating creativity and problem-solving in fun and engaging ways.

Do you provide lunch at the camps?
We do not provide lunch, so we ask that you pack a healthy, nut-free lunch for your child, along with snacks and a water bottle. We offer fruits during breaks to keep children energized. Please notify us of any dietary needs or allergies when you book.

Can I book the camp for just a few days, or do I need to sign up for the whole week?
You’re welcome to book for individual days that fit your schedule—there’s no need to commit to the entire week.

Will there be breaks from the computer
Absolutely. Screen breaks are an essential part of our camp schedule. Additionally, many activities, such as arts, crafts, and sports, provide a balance between screen-based and hands-on learning.

My child has never coded before. Is it still suitable for them to join this camp?
Absolutely! Every child works at their own pace based on their coding experience and skill level. If your child is new to coding, our instructors will provide extra guidance to help them get started. They won’t be the only beginner, and we’re confident they’ll have fun while learning alongside their campmates.

My child attends your camps regularly. Will they be learning the same things each time?
Not at all—there’s always something new! Each camp has a unique theme, such as Halloween, Christmas or Nature and your child will work on different projects, games, animations, and digital art. With every camp, they’ll discover new aspects of coding and technology, ensuring they learn something fresh and exciting each time.

What is your approach to behaviour at the camps?
We encourage all children to show respect and consideration for others. If any behavioural issues arise, our team will work with the child to help them understand our expectations and promote positive behaviour. In the rare case that challenges persist, we will reach out to parents to discuss the situation and explore the best way forward, which may include collecting their child early if needed.

Do students need to bring their own laptops?
There’s no need for students to bring their own devices, as we provide all the necessary equipment, including computers and robots. However, if your child prefers using their own laptop, tablet, or phone, they are welcome to do so. Just let us know at check-in, and while we’ll take great care, we can’t be responsible for any accidental damage.

What is your cancellation policy?
For detailed information on refunds, cancellations, and changes to camp dates, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
