Carlie Coding – Summer Tech Camp

🚀 Carlie Coding Summer Tech Camp 2025 @ William Patten!

✨ This Summer, Let’s Build, Create and Grow – Together

Welcome to Carlie Coding’s Summer Tech Camp 2025 — a place where imagination takes off, curiosity leads the way, and children learn by doing. 💻🤖🎨

Over six vibrant weeks, children explore real-world tech, unlock their creativity, and connect with others — all while developing essential life skills that extend far beyond the screen.

🚀 More Than a Camp — A Mindset

At Carlie Coding, we believe the best learning happens through curiosity, creativity and hands-on experience.

That’s why our summer camp is designed not just to teach, but to inspire.

Through coding, robotics, digital design and interactive tech projects, children gain future-ready skills like problem-solving, collaboration and independent thinking — all while having fun, making friends and building confidence.

👧 For Juniors and Seniors — Tailored by Age

Juniors (ages 5–7) explore tech through age-appropriate platforms like ScratchJr and Bee Bots, colourful digital design, playful robotics and safe, guided tech experiences.

Seniors (ages 8–11) dive deeper into Scratch, Python, VEX robotics, drone flying and 3D modelling.

Each activity is thoughtfully adapted to suit their stage of development, ensuring every child is engaged, supported and encouraged to grow — at their own pace.

💻 Tech Explorers — Mornings with Purpose

Mornings at camp are all about exploration, innovation and hands-on creation.

Children get hands-on with robotics, bring code to life, explore AI in action, and take flight with drones.

They 3D print their own designs and learn the logic behind programming — all through engaging, age-appropriate projects that make learning exciting and meaningful.

Every project is designed to be fun and meaningful — and more than that, we help children see how tech can be used with purpose and imagination.

🎨 Creative Explorers — Afternoons in Motion

Afternoons at Carlie Coding are made for creativity, movement and joyful discovery.

Once screens are off, children become Creative Explorers — drawing, designing, building, crafting, experimenting and playing together in a screen-free, hands-on environment.

From pixel art and 3D pens to LEGO engineering, storytelling, jewellery making and open-ended games, each day offers space to move, create and connect — beyond the screen.

Throughout the summer, our rotating enrichment clubs introduce fresh energy and new experiences — including football, break dance, music, skateboarding, capoeira, fencing and graffiti art — giving children the chance to express themselves and try something different each week.

Fridays wrap up gently with relaxed free play and a feel-good movie session to end the week with smiles.

🧑‍🏫 A Camp You Can Trust

Our team of experienced, enhanced DBS-certified educators and assistants brings warmth, energy and professional care to every session.

We create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where every child feels seen, supported and confident to explore.

🧠 Our Approach: Tech Done Right

We teach technology not as a trend — but as a tool for creation, communication and real-world problem-solving.

Our approach is grounded in balance. We encourage children to think, build and question, while also giving them the space to connect with the world beyond the screen.

Because the future belongs to the curious. And summer should be full of wonder — not just Wi-Fi.

🎒 Tech Skills. Life Skills. Summer Memories.

Whether your child is writing their first line of code or building their fifth robot, painting their own world or discovering something totally new — they’ll end each day excited, proud, and full of stories to tell.

This isn’t just another camp.
This is Carlie Coding — where tech meets imagination, and children shine.

A Typical Day At Camp

Mornings:

  • Drop-Off: Children are warmly welcomed and gathered for a morning meeting.
  • Group Assignments: Children are directed to their pre-arranged groups, organized by age.
  • First Session: First Session: Age-appropriate coding with Scratch or Scratch Jr. Based on the day’s theme, we design a game or animation. We also introduce digital art by exploring various Scratch extensions, allowing children to slowly discover this medium while creating striking visual projects. In all our camps, children are divided into at least two groups based on their age, and they progress with a coding program and robotics tools tailored to their group.
  • Second Session: We design and code a VR world, then experience it using our VR headsets.
  • Third Session: Robotics and Drone Time!

Lunch Break: We enjoy our nut-free lunches, and if the weather allows, spend some time on the playground. Additionally, there are 15-minute breaks between each session, during which children can have their snacks or enjoy the fruits we provide.

OUR DIFFERENCECode the Future with Carlie Coding

At our camps, children take their first steps into the world of digital literacy through age-appropriate coding programs. We use platforms developed by institutions like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), such as Scratch and Scratch Jr., which provide children with a rich and expansive learning environment to help them develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

For older students, we sometimes integrate Minecraft and other coding programs into our curriculum. Through coding, children become familiar with key concepts like loops and conditionals while enhancing their design and spatial skills.

One of the most exciting experiences we offer is VR coding. Children design their own 3D worlds using VR-compatible software, then explore these worlds with VR headsets.

We also introduce children to AI through fun, hands-on projects. They explore the basics of artificial intelligence, learning about algorithms, machine learning, and data analysis, giving them a solid understanding of how AI impacts everyday life.

Our robotics sessions are tailored to various age groups. Younger children work with tools like Bee Bot and Botley to acquire coding and directional skills, while older groups engage with more advanced tools like Lego Robotics, mBot, and Micro:bit. This helps them improve their analytical and algorithmic thinking abilities.

In the afternoons, we shift to screen-free enrichment activities where children participate in arts, sports, or DIY activities like fencing, capoeira, drama, or crafts. Additional activities include 3D pen design and LEGO building time. We wrap up the week with a party on Friday, where children enjoy a movie and delicious snacks.
